One year on: Reflecting on our Graduate Scheme

The HIVED Grad Scheme quantifies and structures something that was already happening at HIVED: talented young people joining and weaving their way around the business until they find their niche, making great impact along the way.

In September 2023, our four graduates started as Operations Executives, beginning their journey by rotating through various roles such as Live Operations, Customer Support as well as in our Supply and Network teams. It has been extremely rewarding, reflecting with our graduates as they have moved across our departments and ultimately found their passion, ending the year by joining the HIVED team full-time. 

The opportunity to experience multiple sections of the HIVED operation, was a key feature of the scheme. Designed with the ability to learn new skills and develop strengths in multiple business critical functions, Saoirse shared: “I’ve been able to professionally and personally work on multitasking skills, people management and strategic thinking”, which she has been able to implement in her new role on our driver engagement team.  

Lottie added: “The grad scheme pushed the limits of my comfort zone, giving me a closer understanding of the business, which would not be possible otherwise,” especially as she entered her new role on the compliance team. With a unique perspective of the operation, she is excelling in her new role, facilitating continuous learning and training which is fundamental within HIVED.

The team at HIVED have additionally been essential in inspiring creativity and growth throughout the graduate’s journey. Yasmin shared how “the team is extremely supportive and are always willing to help. The encouraging culture at HIVED has allowed me to develop my skills and have the confidence to have an impact.” This has been implemented as she continues her HIVED journey, as a member of the marketing department.

Alex further highlighted the collective brilliance of the team across various roles. “There’s an incredible buzz in the air every day, where everyone collaborates seamlessly to achieve our goals,” he added. The collaborative spirit is vital in the dynamic HIVED environment, which has additionally played a vital role in Alex’s new role within the capacity and network team.

The HIVED Graduate Scheme is designed to nurture and develop some of the best young talent in logistics who envision a world where logistics is decarbonised and reimagined like never before. They are a new kind of talent in the industry who represent what HIVED is all about: breaking the mould and rigorously rethinking the status quo.
