Hiring Process

Our hiring process is designed to be efficient, transparent, and inclusive, ensuring that we attract and retain the best talent. As part of our structured approach, here is an insight into what candidates can typically expect when applying to HIVED: 

  1. Application submission: Candidates submit their CVs, which are carefully reviewed by either the hiring manager or the People team. 
  2. Screening call: A structured conversation with a member of the people team or hiring manager to give you more background to HIVED, our team, culture and the role itself. More importantly, we want to hear what you're looking for in your next chapter to see how this role at HIVED can fit into this..
  3. Technical or Role-specific task: Depending on the position, candidates may be asked to complete a live or take-home task, typically lasting around an hour, to assess problem-solving and technical capabilities.
  4. Role-related interview: A 45 minute interview with the hiring manager to dive deeper in your experience and knowledge related to the role.
  5. Cultural fit & leadership interview: A 45 minute interview with two other members of HIVED to gauge whether your and our working styles are aligned and if we provide an environment that you thrive in. If the role requires you to manage people, we will also test for your ability to manage and motivate your team. 
  6. Final Interview with one of our Co-founders or COO: A 30-minute session to discuss vision, goals, and future growth opportunities, ensuring alignment with HIVED’s long-term direction.
  7. Offer stage: Successful candidates receive an offer, and we begin onboarding to ensure a smooth transition into the HIVED team.

Throughout the entire process, candidates are supported providing both a point of contact and ongoing support through each stage of the process.

For highly technical roles such as Senior Frontend Engineer, our process includes additional assessments to ensure candidates are a great fit for our engineering team:

  1. Application and CV review: Initial application review.
  2. Screening call: A 30-minute remote conversation to discuss experience and expectations with a shorter coding exercise.
  3. Live coding exercise: A 75-minute work-in-progress skills based task, to evaluate problem-solving and coding skills.
  4. On-site interviews: A deeper dive into skills and the HIVED values, including:
    • Technical Interview with an Engineering Manager
    • Follow-up interview with our recruitment team
    • Final Interview with one of our Co-Founders
  5. Offer stage: Successful candidates receive an offer, and we begin onboarding to ensure a smooth transition into the HIVED team.
